Yengil atletika mashg‘ulotning asosiy vazifasi о‘quvchilarni sog‘lomlashtirish, ma’nan barkamol yetuk shaxsni tarbiyalashga qaratilgan bо‘lishi kerak. Maktabda yengil atletikaning yurish, yugurish, uloqtirish va sakrash turlari bо‘yicha о‘tkaziladi.
Ushbu dasturning о‘quv materiali barcha yoshdagi о‘quvchilar guruhlariga mо‘ljallangan. Boshlang‘ich sinf о‘quvchilari uchun asosiy e’tibor salomatlikni mustahkamlashga, har tomonlama jismoniy tayyorlikka, koordinatsion qobiliyatlar (chaqqonlik), tezkorlikni, egiluvchanlikni hamda chidamlilikni rivojlantirishga qaratiladi.
