Abstract

The article focuses on two important aspects of education in the new and innovative era: language learning and the development of critical thinking skills. It proposes a new approach that integrates these two requirements by using Socratic questions to revise grammar notions in integrated language classes. The main goal of this study is to test the efficiency of Socratic questions as a teaching tool that effectively facilitates higher-order thinking, reasoning, and analyzing skills. By incorporating Socratic questioning into language learning, the article suggests that students can enhance their grammar understanding while also developing their critical thinking abilities. The integration of Socratic questioning into integrated language classes offers a new approach to teaching grammar notions. It provides an opportunity for students to engage in meaningful discussions, explore different perspectives, and develop their own reasoning skills. Additionally, this approach promotes a deeper understanding of grammar concepts by encouraging students to actively reflect on and apply their knowledge in a more analytical way.
