This thesis analyzes the functional pragmatic aspects of phraseological intensification in modern English. Phraseological intensification, that is, the increase of phraseological units and their role in communication, is important in the dynamic development of the language. Phraseological intensification in modern English is mainly associated with social and cultural changes. New phraseological units are emerging under the influence of the Internet and mass media, which serve to update and develop the language.
