Abstract

Listening comprehension is a vital skill in language learning, but many students find it challenging to develop. Shadowing, a technique that involves repeating what one hears almost immediately after listening, has proven to be an effective strategy to improve this skill. This article is devoted to considering how shadowing enhances listening comprehension by strengthening auditory processing, improving language awareness, and promoting active learning. The article also discusses practical ways to integrate shadowing into language teaching.
