In the field of second language (L2) education, fostering critical thinking and improving learners’ ability to express themselves in the target language are vital objectives. Creative writing, often associated with artistic endeavors, has emerged as an effective pedagogical tool to meet these goals. This article is devoted to considering the impact of creative writing on the development of critical thinking and expression skills in L2 learners. Drawing from existing research and practical examples, this study highlights the cognitive, linguistic, and expressive benefits of incorporating creative writing tasks into the L2 curriculum.
