Abstract

This thesis delves into the semantic features of flora idioms, examining how these expressions draw on the characteristics and symbolism of plants to convey meaning. Through a comprehensive analysis of various flora idioms from different languages and cultures, this study seeks to uncover the underlying patterns and associations that inform the use of plant-based metaphors in language. By exploring the rich semantic landscape of flora idioms, this research aims to shed light on the intricate ways in which plants are woven into the fabric of human communication.
