Abstract

This thematic exploration delves into the intricate relationship between gender and sociolinguistics within the realm of reference in two distinct languages: English and Uzbek. Language, as a powerful tool of communication, bears the imprint of societal norms, values and power dynamics, including those related to gender. This study seeks to unravel the multifaceted ways in which gender influences and is influenced by language use, particularly with regard to reference markers.
