Abstract

Thedevelopmentofcognitivetheoryinlanguagelearningemergedfromthecognitivelinguisticfieldin1970.However,therootofthisdevelopment,wecanobserveintheworkofChomsky(1959)whenhepublishedhiscriticalreviewofSkinner’sarticle.Although,Chomskydidnotdevelopanytheoryinfieldoflearning,hisideasbecameastimulusforfurtherresearchesincognitivisminlanguagelearning.AccordingtoKennet(1970),Chomsky’scriticalreviewofSkinner’sarticleshowedthatbehaviorandlanguagedevelopedatthesametime,laterthisideacontributedtothedevelopmentofcognitiveevolutioninpsychology.
